Question 1

What is Safekeeping?

Accepted Answer

Safekeeping is an early learning compliance platform for Australian early learning centres. It brings children, families, educators, rosters, ratios, fees, training, observations, records, policies and compliance together in one place with one login, and quietly builds the evidence behind the work your team is already doing.

Question 2

Who is Safekeeping for?

Accepted Answer

Safekeeping is built for approved providers and operational managers who need one connected view across every service, centre directors and centre managers who want a clearer picture of their centre, and educators who want everyday tasks like sign-ins, observations and family updates to happen naturally as part of the day.

Question 3

How does Safekeeping help with compliance?

Accepted Answer

Safekeeping was built from the ground up around the evidence behind education and care. Everyday activity such as a sign-in, an observation, a roster, a training record or a family message becomes useful evidence, and Safekeeping connects it to the standards it supports in the background, so you never have to do the work twice.

Question 4

Does Safekeeping tell me I'm compliant or report to the regulator?

Accepted Answer

No. Safekeeping doesn't make decisions for you, tell you that you're compliant, report to regulators or take responsibility away from your team. It gives you a clearer view so the decisions that matter stay with you and your team.

Question 5

Does Safekeeping handle state-specific requirements?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Early learning has national standards, but every state has its own requirements too. Set your service location and Safekeeping can reflect the requirements that apply to you, including relevant screening checks, child safe standards and reportable conduct requirements. When requirements change, Safekeeping keeps pace.

Question 6

Can Safekeeping manage centres in more than one state?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you operate across several states, each service can work to its own requirements while you still have one clear view across your whole organisation.

Question 7

How does Safekeeping help us prepare for an assessment and rating visit?

Accepted Answer

Safekeeping gives you a continuous view of what's happening across your service, so you can see what's going well, spot gaps and risks early, know what to focus on first and connect evidence to the standards it supports. When assessment time comes, you can walk in knowing where you stand instead of piecing paperwork together.

Question 8

How do we switch to Safekeeping?

Accepted Answer

Choose the approach that suits your service. Upload what you have, such as policies, registers, rosters, training records and your QIP, and Safekeeping reads and maps them. Import your current systems, bringing across children, families, staff, enrolments and billing using simple exports. Or let the Safekeeping team handle the migration and connections for you.

Question 9

Will our centre need to stop operating while we move to Safekeeping?

Accepted Answer

No. Your centre keeps running as normal while you make the move.

Question 10

Who makes Safekeeping?

Accepted Answer

Safekeeping is from Protego AI Labs, a privately owned Australian company whose team has spent years working where safety and quality are critical, including early learning, disability support, aged care, energy and critical infrastructure. Protego AI Labs was the People's Choice winner at Queensland Government Launch AI 2026.
